• Aundre Dwayne Allen made an initial appearance on a possession of marijuana-third or subsequent offense charge, a no insurance charge and a driving while barred charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on May 15. Allen is released on his promise to appear. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court within 60 days.

• Candice Jo Fisher made an initial appearance on a disorderly conduct charge, a providing false identification information charge and an interference with official acts charge. A pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on May 29 in Magistrate Court. Fisher is released on her promise to appear.

• Dylan Dawayne Claassen made an initial appearance on a failure to appear for a pre-trial conference charge. Tyler Heeren will continue as counsel. The pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on May 1 in Magistrate Court. Claassen is released on his promise to appear.

• Christian Louis Fisher made an initial appearance on a possession of drug paraphernalia charge. Fisher pleaded guilty and the fine is $65 with a $22.75 surcharge, a $125 law enforcement initiative surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $272.75, due within 30 days.

• William Dean Perry made an initial appearance on a domestic abuse assault-first offense charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on May 15. Perry is released with supervision through the Department of Correctional Services and is to report to the adult probation office to sign a pre-trial release agreement. A no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

• Kathleen Amber Dolan made an initial appearance on three counts of a violation of pre-trial release charge. Pre-trial release was revoked in all three cases and a bond of $15,000 cash only was instated. Jeffrey Hazen will continue as counsel.

• Marco Blair made an initial appearance on a failure to appear for a contempt hearing charge. Aron Vaughn will continue as counsel. Bond is set at $1,000 cash or surety. The contempt hearing will be rescheduled by the District Associate Court.

• Kristina Marie Campbell made an initial appearance on a violation of pre-trial release. Campbell’s next hearing is a sentencing hearing on May 8. Campbell was released on her promise to appear.

• Nicole Christine Sharp made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge. Sharp pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on June 5 in Magistrate Court.

• Guillermo Alamo made an initial appearance on a failure to yield to an emergency vehicle charge. Alamo pleaded guilty and the fine is $100 with a $35 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $195, due within 30 days.

• Daniel Todd Branon made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge and a no valid driver’s license charge. Branon pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on May 29 in Magistrate Court.

• Maria Julia Garcia made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge and a no insurance charge. Garcia pleaded guilty and the fine is $250 for each charge with a $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50 for each charge, due within 30 days.

• Amanda Kristine Jacoby made an initial appearance on a dog at large charge. Jacoby pleaded guilty and the fine is $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75 plus a civil penalty of $25, due within 30 days.

• Khamphet Luong made an initial appearance on a driving while barred-habitual offender charge, a possession of methamphetamine charge and a possession of drug paraphernalia charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on May 16. Bond will continue as posted until the conclusion of this case. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court within 60 days.

• Clarence Isaiah McGee made an initial appearance on a no valid driver’s license charge and an improper lane change charge. McGee pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on June 5 in Magistrate Court.

• A 14-year-old girl made an initial appearance on a no registration card charge, a fraudulent use of registration charge, a no insurance charge and a no valid driver’s license charge. The juvenile provided proof of insurance and the charge was dismissed with court costs of $60 assessed. She pleaded guilty to the other charges. On the no registration charge the fine is $50 with a $17.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $127.50. The fraudulent use of registration and the no valid driver’s license fines were $200 with a $70 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $330 for each charge. All payments are due within 30 days.

• James David Moore made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge. Moore pleaded guilty and the fine is $250 with a $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50, due within 30 days.

• Miguel Reyes Jr. made an initial appearance on a no valid driver’s license charge and a driving under suspension charge. Reyes pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on June 5 in Magistrate Court.

• Sierra Ann Price made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge and a speeding charge. Price pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on June 5 in Magistrate Court.

Thursday

• Joshua Allen Bachman made an initial appearance on a child endangerment charge, a harassment-second degree charge, an interference with official acts-bodily injury charge and a disorderly conduct charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on May 14. Bachman was released with supervision through the Department of Correctional Services and is to report to the adult probation office within 24 hours to sign a pre-trial release agreement. The court ordered that Bachman be photographed and fingerprinted in connection with these charges. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court within 60 days. No-contact orders were issued for the protected parties.

• Zack Campton made an initial appearance on a failure to appear for a contempt hearing on the non-completion of a batterer’s education program. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The contempt hearing will be scheduled by the District Associate Court. Bond is set at $1,000 cash or surety.

• Jose A. Cervantes Rodriguez made an initial appearance through a Spanish interpreter on a possession of methamphetamine charge and a trespass-first offense charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on May 14. Cervantes Rodriguez is released on his promise to appear. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court within 60 days. The court ordered that Cervantes Rodriguez be photographed and fingerprinted in connection with this case.

• Paw Ley Lay made an initial appearance through an interpreter in a tampering with a witness charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on May 14. Lay is released on her promise to appear. A no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

Accidents

• On Thursday, a Jeep driven by Laura Beth Van Waardhuizen, 36, of Des Moines, was northbound on South Center Street when the driver ran a red light and collided with a vehicle driven by Gavin Emil Althaus, 27, of Marshalltown. No injuries were reported. Van Waardhuizen was cited for failure to obey a traffic control device. Damage to the Van Waardhuizen Jeep was estimated at $6,000 while the Althaus vehicle received an estimated $5,000 in damage.

• On Wednesday, a car driven by a 17-year-old male from Marshalltown was northbound on South Second Street at the intersection with Ingledue Street when the driver proceeded into the intersection and collided with a car driven by Michael John Hodges, 67, of Marshalltown. No injuries were reported. The juvenile was cited for failure to obey a stop sign and yield the right of way. Damage to both vehicles was estimated at $1,000 each.

• On Sunday, a car driven by Vicente Hernandez Duran, 28, of Marshalltown, was exiting a parking spot at Hy-Vee when it struck a cart a customer was unloading causing the cart to knock the customer into her vehicle. The customer was transported to UnityPoint Health-Marshalltown by ambulance. Hernandez Duran was cited for no insurance. Damage to the Hernandez Duran car was estimated at $100.

• On Wednesday, Candace Jean Fisher, 36, was arrested for providing false identification information, disorderly conduct and interference with official acts.

• On Wednesday, Jodie Kay Hoodjer, 31, was arrested on two warrants charging her with operating while under the influence-first offense and possession of drug paraphernalia.

• On Wednesday, Diego Nathanel Murillo, 21, was arrested on a warrant charging him with violation of probation.

• On Wednesday, Zack Campton, 29, was arrested on a warrant.
