• Justin Carroll Deal made an initial appearance on an ongoing criminal conduct charge, a theft-second degree charge, a theft-first degree charge, a burglary-third degree charge and a burglary tools charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1 p.m. on June 14. Bond is set at $25,000 cash only.

• Kimberly Sue Kent made an initial appearance on a theft-second degree charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on June 21. Kent is released with supervision through the Department of Correctional Services and is to report to the adult probation office by the end of work on Friday to sign a pre-trial release agreement.

• Kisha Christine Kutzner made an initial appearance on two counts of a probation violation charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The probation revocation hearing will be scheduled by the District Associate Court. Bond is set at $5,000 cash only.

• Valerie Ann Elsberry made an initial appearance on a possession of a controlled substance-methamphetamine charge, a possession of drug paraphernalia charge, a driving under suspension charge and a speeding charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on June 25. Bond will continue as posted until the conclusion of this case. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court within 60 days.

• Nathan Lee Danner made an initial appearance on a trespass charge. Danner pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on June 26 in Magistrate Court.

• Daven Robert Rees made an initial appearance on a speeding charge. Rees pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on July 31 in Magistrate Court.

• Christopher Lane Goodman made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge and a no insurance charge. Goodman pleaded guilty to both charges and the fines on the charges are $250 each with an $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50 for each charge, due by Aug. 31.

• Donicio Eduard Nicolas Navarro made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge and a driving under suspension-failure to file SR-22 insurance charge. A pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on July 17 in Magistrate Court.

• Gilberto Alejandro Rivera Rodriguez made an initial appearance on a driving while barred charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on June 26. Bond will continue as posted until the conclusion of this case.

• Corey Alan Hilson made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge. Hilson pleaded guilty and the fine is $250 with an $887.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50 due, by July 31.

• Manuel Perez made an initial appearance on a dog at large charge and a no proof of vaccination charge. Perez pleaded guilty to both charges. The fine on the dog at large charge was $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75 plus a $25 civil penalty. The fine on the no vaccination is $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75. All payments are due within 30 days.

• Kevin Ray Madison Jr. made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge and a driving while barred charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on June 26. Madison is released on his promise to appear.

• Billy Alfred Edwards Jr. made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge and a no valid driver’s license charge. Edwards pleaded guilty to both charges. The fine on the driving under suspension charge is $250 with a $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50. The driver’s license charge is $200 with a $70 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $330. All payments are due by July 31.

• Benjamin Orie Wedgwood made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge. Wedgwood pleaded guilty and the fine is $250 with a $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50, due by July 31.

• Kelly Christine Eich made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge and a operation without registration charge. Eich pleaded guilty to both charges. On the driving under suspension charge the fine is $250 with a $887.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50. The fine on the registration violation is $50 with a $17.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $127.50. All payments are due within 30 days.

• Taylor Dawn Lynch, of Des Moines, made an initial appearance on a possession of drug paraphernalia charge, an open container charge and a no insurance charge. Lynch pleaded guilty to all charges. On the drug paraphernalia charge the fine is $65 with a $22.75 surcharge, a $125 law enforcement initiative surcharge, a $10 DARE surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $282.75. The fine on the open container charge is $200 with a $70 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $330. The fine on the no insurance is $250 with an $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50. All payments are due by July 31.

• Victor Valdez made an initial appearance on a no insurance charge, a no valid driver’s license charge and a driving under suspension charge. Valdez pleaded guilty to all charges. On the no insurance and the driving under suspension the fines is $250 with an $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50 for each count. The fine on the no valid driver’s license charge is $200 with a $70 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $330.

• On Thursday, Holli Lillibridge, 47, was arrested on a warrant charging her with false report of indictable offense to public entity.

• On Thursday, Jeffrey Scott, 58, was arrested for forgery and first degree theft.

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a HazMat release investigation with no HazMat at 203 N. 12th Ave., an unauthorized burning at 711 E. Boone St., an alarm system sounded due to malfunction at 2613 S. Center St. and six medical assists with the EMS crew to: 105 N. Fifth Ave., 107 N. Third St., 3202 S. 12th St., 210 Olson Way, 2001 Fremont St. and 3202 S. 12th St.

June 1

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a medial assist with the EMS crew to 1606 W. Lincolnway.

May 31

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to two unauthorized burnings at 505 N. Second Ave. and 308 Swayze St.and 10 medical assists with the EMS crew to: 1308 E. Olive St., 2605 S. Center St., 1 W. Grant St., 403 Plaza Heights Road, 305 N. Second St., 1301 Summit St., 1000 N. Third Ave., 801 Arlington Drive, 1314 Greenfield Drive and 1400 Lincoln Tower Circle.

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a dispatched/cancelled en route to 534 N. Second St. and seven medical assists with the EMS crew to: 202 N. Second Ave., 3402 S. Center St., 200 S. 12th Ave., 920 May St., 8 S. Fifth Ave., 312 NewCastle Road and 914 S. Ninth Ave.

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a smoke detector activation due to a malfunction at 8 N. Seventh Ave., an authorized burning at 104 W. Webster St. and eight medical assists with the EMS crew to: 916 Stegman Blvd., Wilson Circle, 533 N. Third St., 2 N. Second Ave., 3202 S. 12th St., 915 W. Merle Hibbs Blvd., 907 W. Boone St. and 8 S. Fifth Ave.

• The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle accident with injuries at 611 E. South St., a dispatched/cancelled en route to 2500 240th St. and four medical assists with the EMS crew to: 1401 S. 17th Ave., 1400 Lincoln Tower Circle, 1301 S. Sixth St. and 1410 W. Linn St.
