Marshall County Courthouse

Court — Monday

• Seton Kelly Smith made an initial appearance on a probation violation charge, an operation without owner’s consent charge and a trespass-first offense charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing on the new charges is scheduled at 1 p.m. on July 10. Bond is set at $2,000 cash or surety. The probation revocation hearing will be scheduled by the District Associate Court. Bond is set at $2,000 cash only.

• Kristopher Ray Wilkinson made an initial appearance on a theft-third degree charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on July 10. Bond is set a $2,000 cash or surety.

• Robert Louis Fite Jr. made an initial appearance on an eluding charge, a driving under suspension charge, a speeding charge, a no insurance charge and two counts of a stop sign violation charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on July 10. Bond is set at $2,000 cash or surety.

• Dillon James Knight made an initial appearance on a parole violation charge. Christian Stickrod was appointed as counsel. The parole revocation hearing will be scheduled by the Administrative Court Judge and the Department of Correctional Services. Knight is being held without bond.

• Lorena Martinez made an initial appearance on a two warrants charging her with failure to appear for a pre-trial conference and a probation violation charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The probation revocation hearing and pre-trial conferences will be scheduled by the District Associate Court. Bond is set at $1,000 cash or surety.

• Daniel Mayen Deng made an initial appearance on a operating while under the influence-second offense charge. Deng will represent himself before the court. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on July 19. Deng is released on his promise to appear. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court within 60 days.

• Zachary Steven Bolar made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge. Bolar pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. on Aug. 7 in Magistrate Court.

• April Dawn Stewart made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge, a no valid driver’s license charge and a operation without registration charge. Stewart pleaded guilty to all charges. On the driving under suspension charge the fine is $250 with a $87.50 surcharge, a $5 county enforcement initiative surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $402.50. The fine on the driver’s license charge is $200 with a $70 surcharge, a $5 county enforcement initiative surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $335. The fine on the operation without registration is $50 with a $17.50 surcharge, a $5 county enforcement initiative surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $132.50. All payments are due within 30 days.

• Stephanie Marie Kernes made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge. Kernes pleaded guilty and the fine is $250 with an $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50, due within 30 days.

• Arturo Manzo Macias made an initial appearance on a no insurance-accident charge and a failure to maintain control charge. Macias pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on Aug. 7 in Magistrate Court.

Marshalltown Police Department

Incidents

• On Friday, a theft was reported to the Marshalltown Police Station.

• On Sunday, a hit and run accident resulting in damage less than $1,000 was reported in the 500 block of North Center Street.

• On Sunday, a case of shoplifting was reported in the 800 block of East Main Street.

Arrests

• On Friday, Arturo Manzo Macias, 20, was arrested for driving while barred-habitual offender.

• On Friday, Brandon Anthony, 30, was arrested for operating while under the influence-second offense.

• On Friday, JD’Andre Weathers, 39, was arrested for theft-fifth degree.

• On Saturday, Bernard Brooks, 25, was arrested for fireworks-prohibited use.

• On Saturday, Trever Alman, 30, was arrested for fireworks-prohibited use.

• On Saturday, Virginia Purk, 28, was arrested for operation without owner’s consent.

• On Saturday, Marty Kelderman, 63, was arrested for driving under suspension.

• On Saturday, Kayla Heatherington, 28, was arrested for fireworks-prohibited use.

• On Sunday, Daniel Deng, 40, was arrested for operating while under the influence-second offense.

• On Sunday, NyKeisha Thomas, 26, was arrested for striking an unattended vehicle and no insurance-accident.

• On Sunday, Dillon Knight, 29, was arrested on a warrant.

• On Sunday, Robert Fite Jr., 44, was arrested for driving under suspension.

• On Sunday, Susan Ottilie, 50, was arrested for driving under suspension.

• On Saturday, Ronald Hinders Jr., 41, was arrested for trespass-damage, interference with official acts causing bodily injury.

• On Monday, Maria Mora Garcia, 31, was arrested for criminal mischief-fourth degree.

Accidents

• On Saturday, a pickup driven by Amanda Senethavysouk, 23, of Marshalltown was exiting a parking spot when it struck the passenger side of a Honda Accord legally parked in the lot. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Senethavysouk pickup was estimated at $200 while the Honda Accord received damage estimated at $2,500.

• On Sunday, a case of hit and run to a garage was reported on North Center Street. Damage to the garage was estimated at $5,000.

• On Sunday, a pickup driven by Sharon Lee Pratt, 70, of Marshalltown, was exiting a driveway onto south 14th Avenue when it struck a legally parked Nissan Maxima. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Maxima was estimated at $2,500 while the Pratt pickup received an estimated $1,000 in damage.

• On Sunday, a vehicle driven by Nancy Savwon Manneh, 40, of Marshalltown, was westbound on East Southridge Road when it struck a legally parked Dodge minivan causing the Manneh vehicle to flip over on its top. Manneh was transported to UnityPoint Health-Marshalltown by ambulance. Manneh was cited for failure to maintain control. Damage to the Manneh vehicle was estimated at $20,000 while the legally parked minivan received an estimated $4,000 in damage.

• On Sunday, a Pontiac Grand Prix driven by an unknown driver backed into a legally parked Chevrolet Sonic at TC’s Riverside Pub. No injuries were reported. The driver will be charged with striking an unattended vehicle and no insurance-accident. Damage to the Grand Prix was estimated at $200 while the Sonic received an estimated $1,400 in damage.

• On Friday, Austin James Shuey, 35, was arrested on a warrant.

• On Friday, Andrew Joseph Smet, 26, was arrested on a warrant.• On Sunday, Seton Smith, 43, was arrested on a warrant charging him with trespass, operating a vehicle without the owner’s consent and a violation of probation.

• On Saturday, Taven Christopher Campbell, 19, was arrested on a warrant.

• On Saturday, Desmen Eugene Bagnall, 21, was arrested for failure to use headlamps when required, reckless driving and operating while under the influence-first offense.

• On Saturday, Edwin Estuardo Giron, 35, was arrested for operating while under the influence-first offense.

• On Sunday, Lorena Martinez, 26, was arrested on a warrant charging her with violation of probation and two counts of failure to appear for a pre-trial conference.
