Court — Monday

• Dwayne Eugene Honbarger made an initial appearance on two counts of a theft-third degree charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Aug. 8. Bond is set at $2,000 cash or surety on each case. Upon release Honbarger will have 30 days to get photographed and fingerprinted in connection with this case.

• Justin Lee Harris made an initial appearance on a warrant charging him with theft-fourth degree. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Aug. 8. Bond is set at $1,000 cash or surety. Upon release Harris will have 30 days to get photographed and fingerprinted in connection with this case.

• Regina Lynn Yost failed to make an appearance on a driving under suspension charge and the court found her guilty. The fine is $250 with an $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50, due within 30 days.

• Clinton Taurean Sanford made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge. Sanford pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on Aug. 28 in Magistrate Court.

• Jeffrey Phillip Clemens made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge and a no insurance charge. Clemens pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on Aug. 28 in Magistrate Court.

• Emalie Kay Olson failed to make an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge and the court found her guilty. The fine is $250 with an $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50, due within 30 days.

• Jherica Nicole Richardson, of Des Moines, made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge. Richardson pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on Sept. 4 in Magistrate Court.

• Marcus Ruben Castillo made an initial appearance on a failure to appear for a sentencing hearing charge. Marshon Dubbert will continue as counsel. The sentencing hearing is rescheduled for 9 a.m. on Aug. 16. Castillo needs to submit a substance abuse evaluation to the court before the next hearing. Bond will continue as posted until the conclusion of this case.

Incidents

• On Friday, two incidents of theft were reported in the 400 block of East Boone Street.

• On Friday, a burglary was reported in the 700 block of Woodbury Street.

• On Friday, July 26, a hit and run accident with property damage only was reported in the 600 block of Highland Acres Road.

• On Friday, a theft of more than $1,000, but less than $10,000 was reported in the 700 block of South Center Street.

• On Friday, a theft was reported in the 500 block of Sharon Avenue.

• On Friday, a burglary involving damage to property was reported in the 400 block of East Boone Street.

• On Saturday, two incidents of theft were reported in the 1300 block of Summit Street.

• On Sunday, a case of criminal mischief-fourth degree was reported in connection with a burglary in the 10 block of North Seventh Street.

• On Sunday, a hit and run accident involving property damage only was reported in the 100 block of North 14th Street.

• On Sunday, a burglary was reported in the 200 block of North Eighth Avenue.

• On Friday, Travis Gummert, 34, was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and on a warrant.

• On Friday, Lashae Stanton, 25, was arrested for theft-fifth degree.

• On Saturday, Brian Peshel, 51, was arrested for driving while barred-habitual offender.

• On Saturday, Alejandro Alvarez, 46, was arrested for driving while license is denied, cancelled, revoked or suspended.

• On Saturday, Randy Hinders, 58, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

• On Sunday, Mark Jokas, 23, was arrested for public intoxication-first offense.

• On Sunday, Eric Guadiana, 31, was arrested for speeding and operating while under the influence-second offense.

• On Sunday, Justin Harris, 28, was arrested on a warrant.

• On Sunday, Andrea Murillo, 20, was arrested for failure to dim headlights and operating while under the influence-first offense.

• On Sunday, Dwayne Honbarger, 53, was arrested for theft-third degree.

Accidents

• On Friday, a car driven by Danielle Beth Wical, 34, of Melbourne, was driving eastbound through Walmart when an unknown vehicle turned westbound resulting in the Wical car having to increase speed to avoid getting hit and the car struck stop sign pole. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Wical car was estimated at $2,500.

• On Friday, Daniel Branon, 52, was arrested on a warrant charging him with sex offender registry violation-first offense.

• On Friday, Steven Thrift, 25, was arrested on a warrant charging him with violation of a no-contact order/contempt of court.

• On Saturday, Stacy Kapayou, 41, was arrested for driving under suspension, no valid driver’s license and no insurance.

• On Saturday, Emily Leytham, 22, was arrested for operating while under the influence-first offense and speeding.

• On Saturday, Joshua Davis, 30, was arrested on a warrant charging him with possession of burglar’s tools, burglary-third degree, theft-first degree and escape from custody-felon.

• On Saturday, Jack Good, 46, was arrested on a warrant charging him with possession of burglar’s tools, burglary-third degree, theft-first degree and escape from custody-felon.

• On Sunday, Greyson Zoffka-Fraser, 25, was arrested for operating while under the influence-first offence and failure to maintain control.

Accidents

• On Saturday, a pickup driven by David Jon Montz, 58, of State Center, was eastbound on Summit Road when it failed to negotiate a curve, the driver over corrected and reentered the roadway where the pickup rolled at least once before coming to rest on its wheels. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Montz pickup was estimated at $15,000.
