Court — Tuesday

• Russell Allen Gale made an initial appearance on a parole violation charge. The parole revocation hearing will be scheduled by the Administrative Law Judge. Gale is being held without bond.

• Anthony Lynn West made an initial appearance on a violation of a no-contact order/contempt of court charge and a child endangerment causing bodily injury charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel in the child endangerment case. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Dec. 13. Bond is set at $5,000 cash only. A no-contact order has been issued for the protected party. Christian Stickrod will continue as counsel on the contempt hearing charge. The contempt hearing will be scheduled by the District Associate Court. Bond is set at $1,000 cash only. A new no-contact has been issued for the protected party.

• Mark Anthony Soard made an initial appearance on a possession of methamphetamine with the intent to deliver or manufacture charge, a possession of marijuana-first offense charge, a operating while under the influence-first offense charge, a possession of drug paraphernalia charge, a fraudulent use of registration charge, a no valid driver’s license charge and a no insurance charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Dec. 13. Bond is set at $50,000 cash or surety. Upon release, Soard will have 60 days to obtain a substance abuse evaluation and submit the results to the court.

• Garrett Lee Kaufman made an initial appearance on an assault causing bodily injury charge. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Dec. 23. Kaufman is released on his promise to appear.

• Zachary Michael Kaufman made an initial appearance on two counts of an assault causing bodily injury charge. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Dec. 23. Kaufman is released on his promise to appear.

Arrests

• On Friday, Charles Poafpybitty, 45, was arrested on a warrant charging him with violation of parole.

• On Friday, Nicholas Davis, 26, was arrested on a warrant charging him with voluntary absence.

• On Sunday, Daniel Mendoza, 20, was arrested for operating while under the influence-first offense and failure to maintain control.

• On Sunday, Terence Shelby, 24, was arrested on a warrant charging him with violation of probation.

• On Monday, Mark Soard, 56, was arrested for possession of marijuana-first offense, controlled substance violation, fraudulent use of registration, no insurance, no valid driver’ license and possession of drug paraphernalia.

• On Monday, Russell Gale, 50, was arrested for violation of parole.

• On Monday, Lexi Lynch, 21, was arrested for operating while under the influence-first offense, speeding, open container, failure to maintain control and no insurance-accident.

Grundy County Sheriff

Arrests

• On Nov. 20, Dale Caldwell, 62, of Waterloo, was arrested by the Waterloo Police Department on a Grundy County mittimus warrant. Caldwell served his sentence and was released.

• On Nov. 24, Lewis Smith, 34, of Mason City, was arrested on 330th Street east of Highway 14 and charged with controlled substance violation, failure to affix a drug tax stamp, possession of a firearm as a felon, possession of drug paraphernalia and two counts of driving under suspension. Smith is being held without bond.

• On Nov. 30, Monte Krieger Jr., 48, of Kamrar, was arrested on Highway 20 and charged with operating while under the influence-first offense and violation of a one-way traffic designation. Krieger posted bond and was released.
