• Aaron Guevara made an initial appearance on an obstruction of emergency communication charge and a domestic abuse assault charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Jan. 30. Guevara was released on his promise to appear. A no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.
• Monica Garcia made an initial appearance on a child endangerment charge, a domestic abuse assault causing injury or mental illness-first offense and a driving under suspension charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Feb. 11. Garcia is released with supervision through the Department of Correctional Services and is to report to the adult probation office within 48 hours to sign a pre-trial release agreement. A no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.
• Arisbeth Castillo made an initial appearance on a possession of drug paraphernalia charge. Castillo pleaded guilty and the fine is $65 with a $22.75 surcharge, a $125 law enforcement initiative surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $272.75, due by March 31.
• Virtus Leonard Brockman made an initial appearance on a striking an unattended vehicle charge and a leaving the scene of an accident-property damage only charge. Brockman pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on Feb. 26 in Magistrate Court.
• Carlos Carmelo Sierra Rojas made an initial appearance on a operating while under the influence-first offense charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Feb. 7. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court within 60 days.
• Arianne R. Exposito made an initial appearance through a Spanish interpreter on a driving under suspension charge. Exposito pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on Feb. 26 in Magistrate Court.
• Jesse J. Albee made an initial appearance on a trespass charge. Albee pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on Feb. 26 in Magistrate Court. Bond will continue as posted until the conclusion of this case.
