• Austin Allen McDanniel made an initial appearance on an assault causing bodily injury or mental illness charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Jan. 17. Bond is set at $1,000 cash or surety. A no-contact order has been given for the protected party.

• Nathan Thomas Lucas made an initial appearance on three counts of a probation violation charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The probation revocation hearing will be scheduled by the District Associate Court. Lucas is being held without bond.

• Christopher Wayne Haller made an initial appearance on two counts of a probation violation charge and a voluntary absence from custody charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing on the voluntary absence charge is set at 1 p.m. on Jan. 17. The probation revocation hearing will be scheduled by the District Associate Court. Bond is set at $6,000 cash only.

• Robert Anthony Ratliff made an initial appearance on two counts of a probation violation charge, a possession of marijuana-third or subsequent offense charge, a possession of methamphetamine-third or subsequent offense charge and a possession of drug paraphernalia charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing on the new drug charges is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Jan. 17. The probation revocation hearing will be scheduled by the District Associate Court. Bond is set at $10,000 cash only.

• Rodolfo Vela Jr. made an initial appearance on a theft-second degree charge, a driving under suspension charge, a seatbelt violation charge, a no insurance charge, a possession of drug paraphernalia charge and an operation of a non-registered vehicle charge. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Jan. 17. Bond is set at $5,000 cash or surety.

• Colton Scott Johnson made an initial appearance on a theft-fifth degree charge. Jennie Wilson-Moore has been appointed as counsel. The pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on Feb. 19 in Magistrate Court.

• Shelby Leann See made an initial appearance on a simple assault charge. See pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on Feb. 5 in Magistrate Court. A no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

• James Pettigrew Jr. made an initial appearance on a public intoxication charge and a trespass-first offense charge. Pettigrew pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on Feb. 19 in Magistrate Court.

• Molly June Gummert made an initial appearance on a trespass-first offense charge. Gummert pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. on Feb. 19 in Magistrate Court.

• On Monday, , a case of vandalism to property was reported in the 400 block of Melody Lane.

• On Monday, James Pettigrew Jr., 57, was arrested for public intoxication-first offense and trespass.

• On Monday, Colton Johnson, 19, was arrested for theft-fifth degree.

• On Monday, Robert Ratliff, 34, was arrested for two counts of a controlled substance violation, possession of drug paraphernalia and on two warrants.

• On Monday, Julio Cesar Espinoza-Guevara, 38, was arrested on a warrant.

Accidents

• On Dec. 30, a car driven by a 17-year-old female from Dike was traveling on 160th Street east of W Avenue when the wind blew her car to the right resulting in the car dropping off onto the shoulder where the driver overcorrected losing control of the car and entering the north ditch where it rolled and came to rest on its top in the field. No injuries were reported. Damage to the juvenile’s car was estimated at $3,000.

• On Dec. 30, a vehicle driven by Megan Manship, 47, of Conrad, was exiting a private driveway onto East Center Street when it collided with a vehicle driven by Zachariah Reece, 44, of Conrad which was driving east on Center Street. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Manship vehicle was estimated at $4,000 while the Reece vehicle received an estimated $2,000 in damage.

• On Jan. 1, a vehicle driven by Sydney Olson, 21, of Forest City, was eastbound on Highway 20 when the driver fell asleep at the wheel. The vehicle dropped off the shoulder where the driver overcorrected causing the vehicle to hit the guardrail and go off the road at the ramp. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Olson vehicle was estimated at $5,000.
