Court — Friday
• Theresa June Fell made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge and a no insurance charge. Both cases were dismissed with court costs of $60 and $55, respectively charged, due in 30 days.
• Esteban Noe Covarrubias made an initial appearance on a operating while under the influence-first offense charge and a striking an unattended vehicle charge. On the OWI charge a preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Aug. 7. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court within 60 days. Covarrubias pleaded guilty to the striking unattended vehicle charge and the fine is $135 with a $20.25 surcharge and $55 in court costs for a total of $210.25.
• Andrea Josephine Thompson made an initial appearance on a trespass charge. Thompson pleaded guilty and the fine is $260 with a $39 surcharge and $55 in court costs for a total of $354, due within 30 days.
• Brian Joseph Hatch made an initial appearance on a rabies vaccination violation charge. Hatch pleaded guilty and the fine is $65 with a $9.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $134.75, due within 30 days.
• Sean Matthews Smith made an initial appearance on a probation violation charge. Jennie Wilson Moore is appointed as counsel. The probation revocation hearing is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Aug. 10.
Bond is set at $5,000 cash or surety.
• Bradley Wayne Sparrow made an initial appearance on a parole violation charge. Jennie Wilson Moore is appointed as counsel. The parole revocation hearing will be scheduled by the Administrative Law Judge. Sparrow is being held without bond.
• Rhonda Kay Gonzalez made an initial appearance on a rabies vaccination violation charge. Gonzalez pleaded guilty and the fine is 65 with a $9.75 surcharge and $55 in court costs for a total of $129.75, due within 30 days.

Arrests
• On Saturday, Larry Wayne Kemp, 31, was arrested on warrants.
• Sean Matthews Smith, 37, was arrested on a warrant.
Grundy County Sheriff
Arrests
• On July 13, Patrick Knaack, 53, of Reinbeck, was arrested at the sheriff’s office and charged with assault causing serious injury. Knaack posted bond and was released.
• On Saturday, Aijalon Daughtry, 20, of Madison, Wis., was arrested on Highway 20 and charged with possession of a controlled substance, carrying weapons and possession of drug paraphernalia. Daughtry is being held in lieu of bond.
Accidents
• On July 6, a vehicle driven by Melissa Mulder, 48, of Wellsburg, was eastbound on T-19 when it struck a deer that entered the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Mulder vehicle was estimated at $2,000.
• On July 14, a car driven by Brittany Trausch, 30, of Holland, was eastbound on Highway 175 when it struck a deer that entered the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Trausch car was estimated at $1,500.
