• Omar Alejandro Cruz made an initial appearance on a parole violation charge. Jeff Hazen is appointed as counsel. The parole revocation hearing will be scheduled by the Administrative Law Judge. Cruz is being held without bond.

• Ashtin Shawn Menter made an initial appearance on a sex abuse-second degree charge. Aron Vaughn is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on Jan. 14. Bond is set at $25,000 cash. A no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

• Joshua Marvin Powell made an initial appearance on two counts of a forgery charge and two counts of a theft-fifth degree charge. The preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Jan. 21. Powell is released with supervision through the Department of Correctional Services and is to report to the adult probation office within 48 hours.

• Shaddare Jammal Watkins made an initial appearance on a voluntary absence from custody charge. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Jan. 13. Bond is set at $1,000 cash.

• Gerald Richard Vannoller Jr. made an initial appearance on a theft-fifth degree charge. Vannoller pleaded guilty and the fine is $105 with a $15.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $180.75.

• Shelene Kate Balderas made an initial appearance on a speeding charge. Balderas pleaded guilty and the fine is $55 with a $8.25 surcharge and $55 in court costs for a total of $118.25.
