• Tyler Lee Zeuthen made an initial appearance on a possession of a controlled substance-first offense charge and a possession of marijuana charge. The preliminary hearing is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. on Dec. 12. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court.
• Jose Luis Galaviz made an initial appearance on a probation violation charge. Wes Hoyer is appointed as counsel. The probation revocation hearing is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Dec. 6. Bond is set at $5,000 cash.
• Damian Jamal Rockett made an initial appearance on a violation of a no-contact order/contempt of court-show cause charge. A show cause hearing is scheduled for 11:45 a.m. on Nov. 29. Rockett was released with supervision through the Department of Correctional Services and is to report to the adult probation office within 48 hours. A new no-contact is issued for the protected party.
• Victor Manuel Meraz made an initial appearance on a failure to appear for an arraignment hearing charge. Patrick Peters is acting as counsel. The arraignment hearing is rescheduled for 9 a.m. on Dec. 2.

• On Tuesday, Nov. 15, an SUV driven by Courtney Nicole Adair, 40, of Marshalltown, was eastbound on Marshalltown Boulevard when it struck a deer and came to rest on the south shoulder. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Adair SUV was estimated at $10,000
