Marshalltown Modern Woodmen recognized for event

Members of Modern Woodmen of America Chapter 385 in Marshalltown were recently recognized for coordinating an exemplary Hometown Hero event. The group, led by activities coordinator Mary Blom, honored an 86-year-old woman who made hundreds of face masks for the community. In addition to honoring her with Modern Woodmen’s Hometown Hero award, the chapter invited her family members, past piano students and other guests to a virtual award presentation on Zoom. At the monthly Zoom meeting for PEO Chapter MJ on March 1, officers were installed for the 2021-22 year. They were President Rheba Yost, Vice President Charlene Martin, Recording Secretary Chris Melde, Corresponding Secretary Marki McKibben, Treasurer Andria Helgerson, Chalin Barb McBride, Guard Meredith Bell, State Convention Delegate Yost, State Convention Alternate Delegate Martin. American Legion Auxiliary holds Spring Conference

The Marshall County Spring Conference of American Legion Auxiliary was held March 13 at the Conrad Legion Hall. The host unit was Conrad. Registration was at 9 a.m. and cost was $1. Parliamentarian was Barb Blake. The flags were posted at the head table and the MIA/POW flag was dropped on a chair by the head table. President Pat Williams called the meeting to order. Auxiliary Unit 46 loses 20 members

The American Legion Auxiliary, Unit 46 held their meeting on March 9 in the lower level of the American Legion Post 46. The meeting was called to order by Deb Miller, president. Opening prayer was given by Dorothy Hellberg, chaplain. The Pledge of Allegiance and Preamble was recited according to ritual.
