American Legion seeking to expand membership

Under new law any veteran who has served federal active duty in the United States Armed Forces since Dec. 7,1941 and has been honorably discharged or is still serving is eligible for membership in the American Legion. The American Legion consists of the Legionnaires, Auxiliary, Sons and the American Legion Riders. Only males are eligible to join the Sons. Even if you haven’t served, but a male descendent has, this makes you eligible to join the Sons. Noon Lions welcome new member

The Marshalltown Noon Lions welcomed a new member Charlotte “Hoke” Farr. They also celebrated Jim Bagnall’s 65-year membership and Mel Dostal’s 50-year membership. Farr gave a program on the 1984 Lions International Convention in San Francisco that she and Jack attended.

Psi Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma met at 5 p.m. on Monday at the Fisher Community Center. President Michelle Ritter greeted members with hot chocolate and tea and an assortment of heart-shaped cookies.
