• Carina Clarice Victor made an initial appearance on two counts of a possession of a controlled substance-third or subsequent offense charge, a criminal mischief-fourth degree charge, a possession of drug paraphernalia charge and an interference with official acts charge. Jennie Wilson-Moore is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is set for 9:30 a.m. on Feb. 23. Bond is set at $5,000 cash or surety. A substance abuse evaluation is ordered with the results submitted to the court.
• Shane Michael Davis made an initial appearance on a sex offender registry violation-first offense charge, Patrick Peters is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is set for 9:30 a.m. on Feb. 23. Bond is set at $2,000 cash or surety.
• Luis Adrian Ramirez failed to appear on a driving under suspension charge and the court found him guilty. The fine is $250 with a $37.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $347.50.
• Jeanette Rae Awes made an initial appearance on a theft-third degree charge. Jeff Hazen is appointed as counsel. The preliminary hearing is set for 9:30 a.m. on March 5.
• Michael Dean Willits made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge. A pre-trial conference is set for 9:30 a.m. on March 6 in Magistrate Court.
• Santiago Angel failed to appear on a possession of drug paraphernalia charge and the court found him guilty. The fine is $105 with a $15.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $180.75.
• Nathun Owen Crist made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge. A pre-trial conference is set for 9:30 a.m. on March 6 in Magistrate Court.

• On Tuesday, Feb. 13, Shane Davis, 44, was arrested on a warrant charging him with sex offender registry violation-first offense.
Accidents
• On Monday, Feb. 12, an SUV driven by Debra L. Hippler, 65, of Gladbrook, was eastbound on East Main Street Road when it struck a deer that entered the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Hippler SUV was estimated at $3,000.
• On Monday, Feb. 12, a car driven by Roger Dean Elder, 68, of Marion, was westbound on Highway 30 when it struck a deer that entered the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Elder car was estimated at $7,000.
