Marshalltown Strong
Dark clouds from the west boiling through clear blue sky,
The sirens they blare, the people ask why?
A raging tornado is blowin’ through town,
Better run to the basement, folks, just keep your heads down.
It sounds like a freight train as it rips up huge trees,
It tears into houses, blasting deadly debris.
People are shouting God’s name many times
through the storm,
All pleading and praying to be saved from all harm.
Our prayers must have been answered, thank God, we all say.
Not one life was taken,
Not on this strange day.
Our town will rebuild, but it will take very long.
But that’s just alright, ’cause we’re Marshalltown Strong.
Yes, that’s just alright, ’cause we’re Marshalltown Strong…
