T.J. Tampa

AMES — Iowa State defensive back T.J. Tampa has been named a semifinalist for the Bednarik Award, given annually to the nation’s most outstanding defensive player.

Tampa is one of 20 finalists for the award.

He has allowed just one touchdown in 320 coverage snaps so far this fall. Tampa has compiled 33 tackles, two interceptions and seven pass breakups.
