P.E.O. Chapter LT met Monday via Zoom with eight members present. President Rhonda Miller presided as members shared updates. Lisa Koester and Joann Neven gave the program on P.E.O. project, STAR scholarship requirements for a senior woman who is planning to attend college after graduation and sponsored by a chapter. Their next meeting will be Aug. 16.
A P.E.O. Chapter LT Zoom meeting was held June 7, with President Rhonda Miller presiding and 12 members online. Miller was the chapter delegate to the virtual Iowa State P.E.O. Chapter Convention on June 5 and will be presenting a report at the next meeting in person on Monday at First Methodist Church. Sigma Master Chapter, Beta Sigma Phi met for lunch on June 8 with eight members present, and two guests in the home of Jan Keller. Health reports were given by many with two attending after hip surgery. Roll call was taken with the question asked: “What would you like to do on a ‘day out’ in July and August?” Minutes of the April meetings were read by Alice Nicholson, and Barb Noid gave the treasurer’s report after the 60th anniversary gift for Caralee Hutchens was paid. The American Legion Auxiliary May 11 meeting was opened by President Deb Miller at the American Legion Post 46 in the lower level. The opening prayer was given by Chaplain Dorothy Hellberg. Following the prayer, Dorothy Hellberg led the group in a Memorial to the 10 unit members who passed away in the last year. The Pledge of Allegiance and the Preamble to the Constitution of the American Legion Auxiliary was led by Miller. New member Laurel was welcomed by the membership.
