Daniel Coston, 1607 W. State St., made an initial appearance on an ongoing criminal conduct charge, theft-fourth degree charge and a theft-fifth degree charge. The public defender’s office was appointed to handle his case. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Sept. 8. Coston was released with supervision through the Department of Correctional Services and is required to sign a written promise to appear and report to the adult probation office by 4 p.m. today and sign a pre-trial release agreement.
James Hodson, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a aggravated domestic assault charge, a child endangerment charge and a false imprisonment charge. The public defender’s office was appointed to handle his case. The preliminary hearing is set at 1 p.m. on Aug. 29. Bond is set at $5,000 cash only. A no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.
Wol Reec Wol, 309 Swayze St., made an initial appearance on a interference with official acts charge and a public intoxication charge. Wol pleaded guilty to the interference charge and the fine is $250 with a $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50. The court allowed for monthly installment payments of $50 beginning Sept. 18 or in lieu of the fine and surcharge he may do 46 hours of community service work plus pay the court costs to be completed by Feb. 15, 2015. On the public intoxication charge, Wol pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9 a.m. on Sept. 23 in Magistrate Court. Wol was released on his own recognizance.
Akot Bal Akot, 306 Bromley St. Apt. #9, made an initial appearance on a public intoxication charge and a trespass charge. He pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9 a.m. on Sept. 23 in Magistrate Court. The court appointed Christian Stickrod as counsel.
Robert Strandberg Jr., of Rhodes, made an initial appearance on a theft-fourth degree charge. The public defender’s office was appointed to handle his case. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on Sept. 8. Strandberg was released on his own recognizance.
Cody Woodrum, 1607 W. State St., made an initial appearance on a theft-fifth degree charge. He pleaded guilty and the fine is $65 with a $22.75 surcharge, a $125 law enforcement initiative surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $272.75 plus restitution if applicable. The court allowed for monthly installment payments of $50 beginning Sept. 18 and continuing until the debt is paid in full.
Brittney Ann Wirtz, of Waterloo, made an initial appearance on a theft-fifth degree charge. She pleaded guilty and the fine is $65 with a $22.75 surcharge, a $125 law enforcement initiative surcharge and $90 in court costs for a total of $302.75, due within 30 days of today’s date.
Christian Rodriguez, 212 Pleasantview Road, made an initial appearance on a possession of drug paraphernalia charge. He pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is set at 9 a.m. on Sept. 23 in Magistrate Court.
Raymundo Flores, 1118 May St., made an initial appearance on a failure to appear to file a guilty plea on a possession of a controlled substance charge. He pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled at 1:30 p.m. on Sept. 9 in District Associate Court. The court appointed Merrill Swartz as counsel. Bond will continue as posted until the conclusion of this case. Flores is to report to the adult probation office immediately to sign a pre-trial release agreement.
