VFW Auxiliary installs new officers

The Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary of Post 839 met on June 18 at the post home. The meeting started at 6 p.m. with 18 members present. Connie Kennelley, president, conducted the meeting according to the ritual and the Pledge of Allegiance was spoken. May minutes were read and approved, the treasurer’s report was filed for audit and membership was reported at 100 percent. Judy Schiebel reported 171 members contributed 824 hours for community service, which amounted to $4,296.94. Flight to end polio presented at Rotary

The June 23 meeting of the Marshalltown Rotary club was held at Elmwood following lunch. Many members joined the meeting virtually via Zoom. President Jim Goodman gave a report of the food drive that occurred over the weekend. Good fellowship. Good visibility. Good cause. Conrad American Legion Auxiliary hosts June meeting

CONRAD — The first post COVID-19 quarantine meeting of Unit 681 was held at the Conrad Legion Hall at 1:30 p.m. on June 22. The meeting was called to order by President Sue Kitzman with seven members present. The president asked for the roll call of officers answered by four and the minutes of the last meeting. The secretary gave a penny march/card report, read correspondence and shared an excerpt on a poppy making article in the May 2020 issue of American Legion Auxiliary magazine. Rotary returns to Elmwood for luncheon meetings

After a year-long absence from Elmwood, the Marshalltown Rotary club was back in live action for its June 16 meeting. As has been the case for the past month, virtual Zoom meetings continue to be offered to membership in the spirit of social distancing. Modifications to the venue and delivery were made out of respect for pandemic concerns.
