Citizen of the Year Roast details announced

The Optimist Club of Marshalltown has announced the details of the 2020 Citizen of the Year Roast to honor Margaret Gervich. The Roast event will be held on April 2 at Elmwood Country Club. Social hour will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a cash bar, the chicken breast/Scottish salmon dinner at 6:30 p.m. and the Roast program at 7:30 p.m. Gervich has selected her husband, Doug, to serve as the Master of Ceremonies for the program. The annual Prairieville Ladies potluck dinner was held this year at the Kopper Kettle in the Vets Home with Darlene Manz, Renie Loney and Tracy MacBeth hosting. Thirteen members and their families enjoyed delicious hot entries and several dessert choices. President Loney called the business meeting to order with the roll call, “Which do you like better-dog or cat? Why?” The minutes and treasurer’s report were read and approved.
